MetSearch is Cardiff Met’s study resource search engine. Here you will find hundreds of thousands of academic resources that the library service has provided for your studies.
The best place to start when looking for resources is the reading list for your module or course – this will give you the titles of specific books, and journals you need to look at.
STAR TIP – If your module has a reading list in Leganto, everything you need will be right there with one click. Find more information in our Leganto Guide for Students.
STAR TIP – Before you start searching for resources, get prepared to record as much detail as you can about the resources you are looking for. If you use them in your assignment, you will need to record all the citation information to use in your references and bibliography.
NOTE: for electronic resources you also need to cite the last access date. You can get more help on referencing and citation within the Academic Practice pages.
In this MetSearch guide we have focused on print and electronic Books and Journals. However, we have many other resource types in our Collections, such as audiovisual materials, newspapers, reports, conference proceedings and educational resource packs. They can all be found in MetSearch and the information contained in this guide broadly applies to all resources.
